Most of us identify with three spatial dimensions and time. We’ve been brainwashed to believe that we have five senses that are limited to detecting those four dimensions. The geometry we studied in high school is limited to three dimensions, and doesn’t even cover curved surfaces (such as the geometry of geography). Although science is discovering a multi-dimensional reality that meshes with Biblical realities, this knowledge is so complex and requiring of mathematics, that only scientists comprehend it. Unfortunately, most of these will never know what the Bible says. On the other side of the equation, there are very few Bible scholars and clergy who know anything about science.
Physicist Richard Feynman, a source of some delightful quotes, says the following: “The old problems, such as the relation of science and religion, are still with us, and I believe present as difficult dilemmas as ever, but they are not often publicly discussed because of the limitations of specialization.”
What’s remarkable is that the Bible has never been contradicted by scientific discovery or archaeological or historical finding. The only contradictions arise from people’s interpretations of the Bible. A perfect example is the contradictory beliefs about the actual time passage occurring during the Genesis 6 days of creation. But I think that to believe that time as we know it today is what is meant here, is rather silly. I can easily imagine that quantum effects, relativistic time warp page and perhaps other as yet unknown factors could render the 6 days of creation to mean just about any amount of “time” to elapse without contradiction.
As I said, nothing has ever disqualified the veracity of the Bible. Having said this, what has been disqualified is human desire to dominate, usurp power (spiritual and temporal), and just plain ignorance. So I want to be clear: I may at times be bashing what I consider narrow-minded or wrong thinking, but never Biblical truth. My only motivation is to make an attempt, however feeble and limited on my part, to move the people I love, and some I have never met, towards a little better knowledge of this cosmic and personal God.
When Jesus burst into our four-dimensional reality, his first words to the people around him were , “Change your whole way of being, for the kingdom of heaven has come near!” (my translation). The actual quote begins with a quote from the prophet Isaiah, shown in capitals:
Matt 4:16-17 16 “THE PEOPLE WHO WERE SITTING IN DARKNESS SAW A GREAT LIGHT, AND THOSE WHO WERE SITTING IN THE LAND AND SHADOW OF DEATH, UPON THEM A LIGHT DAWNED.
17 From that time Jesus began to preach and say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
To repent means to change the way we look at things and therefore the way we live. These were also the identical last words of John the Baptist, the last Old Testament prophet sent to announce messiah. And since Biblical repetition always means wake up and pay attention, let’s ask ourselves what this might mean.
So,why did Matthew, the writer, juxtapose these two thoughts? The interpretation seems very clear. Jesus is light coming into the darkness. He is the expression in flesh of God, the radiant one, even radioactive one, he glows by the vibrations of multiple dimensions – heaven, which is the kingdom. Thus, the kingdom of heaven is now here and it’s light is irradiating us, thus changing us, with our cooperation, into seeing things differently, and transforming us — true repentance!
Paul says ” He [God]rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son”. What is the domain of darkness? It is the state of being we chose when we desired to experience sexual and sensual sensations, and other delights of the five senses and four dimensions at the time of the fall. What? Is that really your interpretation of the fall? Yes, pretty much. Before that, I think it’s clear that we existed in the state we were created in. We were face to face with God, conversing as with a loving papa, were we not? I think we were aware of and existing in a vibratory or dimensional state much superior to our current one. One which made possible tuning in His ultra-hyper-high frequencies on an everyday basis.
Paul says “all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible” ¹ So we can easily conclude that creation included matter that was of the four dimensions as well as matter that was of subtler dimension. Matter that requires more coordinates to describe it than most of us can fathom. I’m told that astrophysicists believe through experiments and calculations, that we can detect only 5% of the matter of the universe.
Let’s keep stretching. Our goal is to understand and embrace what Paul meant when he said to walk in the spirit. Visible and invisible. What if both are one and the same? What if the difference is caught up in the curlicues of never-never land: the quanta, mu masons, strong and weak forces, dark energy, quarks, and what have you. What if the difference between matter and spirit, visible and invisible, particles and waves were a conceptual problem of we “fallen” humans.
“Light and matter are both single entities, and the apparent duality arises in the limitations of our language.”² (Werner Heisenberg)
My translation of the above is that visible matter (particles) is a projection of something invisible. We call these two conventions particles and waves for want of better words to express ourselves, because our language is also a product of our fallen, four-dimensional reality. We use two words to express apparently contradictory phenomena, particles and waves, but neither really exists to the exclusion of the other.
Perhaps matter and waves are not altogether different than flesh and spirit, or at least they express parallel qualities. Perhaps the separation between flesh and spirit is an effect of the fall of man from one state to another, where spirit became almost alien and separate. But the very presence of the kingdom, as incarnated in Jesus (God and man in one body), irradiates us with another dimensions which in turn re-marries flesh and spirit.
Are we sufficiently stretched to be able to accept that the Biblical world view may be literally valid, just lacking in language to express another reality: the reality of heaven. Angels for instance, can be understood as beings of a vibrational nature more subtle, or dimensionally more complex, than ours, being able to move by mere intention through space and through matter, and to show themselves on earth in form we can perceive even with the senses. Witness the many apparition of angels such as the to Mary (the annunciation), the archangel Michael to Daniel, and many others. The Mount of Transfiguration, also a trans-dimensional manifestation by beings from other dimensions. Or perhaps more accurately, multi-dimensional beings able to choose to manifest also here in our lesser four dimensions.
But let’s call it a day for now. If this is starting to make sense, you may be a trans-dimensional being as well.

² The quote continues, “We begin with a very good summary of Atomism, as their ultimate conclusion, that the ‘particle’ is a conceptual tool for the logical positivist/mathematical physicist, but does not physically exist, is correct. The Wave Structure of Matter explains the ‘particle’ effect is caused by the wave-center of a Spherical Standing Wave.” http://www.spaceandmotion.com/Physics-Light-Quanta-Photon-Photons.htm>
