Big Bang AND Creation

Theoretical cosmologists’ rendition of how things began. An interesting theory, but highly speculative, as is the time frame. Science tries to imply that conjecture is “proof” of the inaccuracy of biblical description of creation. With theoretical models such as these, we enter a quantum twilight zone where billions of years may be as accurate as days of creation.

Our world consists of bits or pixels, much like a TV show. It appears to be analog or continuous, but in reality it may be said to be more binary in its makeup. As a matter of scientific fact, space, time, light, are all made up of discreet “pieces” – very small pieces, but nevertheless pieces, bits. Light, for instance, is not a continuous wave, but is made up of packets or quanta. Of course as we just saw in the previous blog, these words are inadequate to describe this kinds of phenomena. I propose that this world is a projection, of sorts, of a world that is normally invisible to us, which is a world existing in the 5th dimension and beyond, the realm of the Creator of the universe.
Let me try to use words to hint at what the “truth” might be that the Bible talks about. A world that is super-natural, or in my vocabulary, a world that is an extension, projection, or reflection of a world of a higher dimensional world. The reflection of a beautiful landscape on a pond is real, but lacking the dimensions of the “real” landscape above it.1
Suppose you have a length of string, and you were to cut it in half, and then cut the half in half, and so on. Naturally, you would need some very thin string and a very special and very sharp scissors. Eventually, you would get to the point where the two halves left are one Planck unit of length. If you tried to cut one of those halves, you could not get to a half a Planck length. Less than one Planck unit of length, your string turns to quantum mush, technically speaking. By which I mean that your string, or rather what we conceive of as matter, or anything in our tangible four-dimensional world, becomes fairy dust. It ceases to have location, and can be said to be in multiple or even no location, or be at all locations at once.
This is a simplistic statement of one of many quirky concepts of quantum physics. So quirky, that Einstein worked feverishly for 30 years to disprove quantum physics, trying to express a realm or world belonging to a higher dimension with mathematical expressions that are adequate only for describing this world (the world of the four dimensions). Here was the man who discovered the fourth dimension, grasping that time and space form a continuum in which we live and operate, discovered the theory of relativity, proved that time is elastic and not an absolute, and yet refused to embrace the discoveries of his contemporary quantum physicists.
Quantum physicists could be said to be poking their fingers into other dimensions. In fact, theoretical physicists are indeed theorizing that there are probably ten dimensions. And why not more? The Bible states that what belongs to the world of the four dimensions is perishable, temporal. This makes perfect sense since it is in time. What is out of time is in-visible to us and thus eternal.2 It wasn’t until Einstein that we understood that time and space were interlaced, inter connected in a continuum, and that a change in space (relative movement) would cause a stretching or contracting of time.
To rephrase what Paul said is that what is visible (occupies three-dimensional space) is also in time. And conversely, what is not visible (does not occupy space)is also not in time (eternity).
How could Paul, two thousand years ago, in an agrarian society, come up with such a concept? Consider how un-sophisticated the concept of time was then, relating more to the passage of days and seasons than the much more sophisticated concept we have with watches and nuclear clocks. Even Newton’s physics, which we now consider primitive, would not come along for 1600 years.
Remember, we can’t really follow a neat and tidy rational argument to discovering the “truth” as to the reality that is life. We have to catch glimpses wherever we can. So let me throw out another very interesting thought. Bear in mind that my premise is that the Bible is inspired by the Creator of the universe, and that it has never been shown to contradict itself. The Bible says:
“He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers. He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.” Isaiah 40:22
In one sentence Isaiah, 3600 years ago, conveyed that the earth was round and that the universe is expanding! A flat earth concept is actually attributable to Aristotle, and believed until Copernicus and Galileo came along. The reason the Catholic church condemned Galileo for heresy was that the Pope at the time took personal offense from a paper Galileo wrote. Unfortunately, since the Renaissance, a lot of things have Benn spun to impinge the church, and with it Christianity and the Scriptures, and only diligent research can undue all this false garbage that is floating about in the chess pool of our civilization.
Science theorizes, as you probably know, that the universe came about when “spark” got things going, and a minuscule particle then expanded in an instant to become the earth, planets Sun, stars nebulae, etc. Kind of sounds like creation to me. Without a creative, design principle, God, you will have to do a lot of explaining to convince me that a spontaneous random event resulted in the formation of such complexities. But here is an amusing detail. Remember the Planck unit: the smallest unit of time, length, and mass that is possible before you are no longer in the four dimensions and all the laws of physics no longer apply.
This minimum unit of length is 1 Planck Length, and it equals 1.16 x 10^-35 meter. Otherwise put about 1/10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 of a meter. That is a very teeny weeny size. About one decillionth (1/10^33)of a yard or meter (why quibble over a few inches in the unit of measure?). Here is the fun part- we’re done with the heavy lifting. Read this carefully:

“Our understanding of the Big Bang begins with the Planck epoch, when the universe was 1 Planck time old and 1 Planck length in diameter, and had a Planck temperature of 1. At that moment, quantum theory as presently understood becomes applicable. Understanding the universe when it was less than 1 Planck time old requires a theory of quantum gravity that would incorporate quantum effects into general relativity. Such a theory does not yet exist”

It seems so clear! At that first instant of time, when time began, a power from another(other) dimension(s) manifested into these four dimensions we know so well, a force or energy bringing a code or DNA from that other world, which expanded from its “seed” state into the universe as we know it – at least as it was before time made some changes to it. Otherwise put, God reached into the space-time continuum injecting a coded, programmed seed of energy that expanded and “grew” into our universe. He spoke (vibrational energy)the world into existence. That seed, or spark as physicists say, carrying all the coding for the universe to form into planets, stars, etc. For obvious reasons the Genesis account doesn’t describe it in scientific terms that even today’s physicists struggle to understand and aren’t too sure about.
How fascinating! Anything smaller than one Plank unit, behaves as if it were in another world, another dimension. It can be in many places or even everywhere at once. Isn’t that what we’re saying when we say God is omnipresent? This is how science helps to expand my faith. But we have to see things from a little bigger picture, a little bit wider perspective.

Here’s my wrap up:
“At 1 Planck temperature, all symmetries broken since the early Big Bang would be restored, and the four fundamental forces of contemporary physical theory would become one force”

What I extract from this statement is that there is a theoretical way in which creation can be reversed and revert to some primordial state, perhaps free from the bounds of our four dimensional world, back to the world of the spirit. Isn’t that eternal life? It sounds also like my life, or yours, beginning with a spiritual code, the spirit, enters matter, carrying DNA, patterning a body, living, and then, at what we term death, returning to eternal life… I like it.
