Impregnated by the Spirit

Jesus established an open heaven when he was baptized in the Holy Spirit.

Why is it that for most of us, those early days of discovering Jesus are so exciting and wonderful. So much so that many of us feel guilty that we don’t feel that way now. I think the answer is that it’s part of the Holy Spirit’s “job” to woo us into the Kingdom. As He comes to us for this wonderful purpose, he acts first “while we were yet sinners”. We experience the Presence, the very presence of Heaven, of God Himself – the vibration, the dimension of God and Heaven. Heaven is a dimensional realm*, beyond the time-space continuum. It is everywhere in that it interpenetrates everything, but it is nowhere because it has no locality.

Normally, we four-dimensional beings, stuck in the five senses, identifying almost exclusively with this dense Earth, flounder around experiencing only the vibrational spectrum of the visible, tangible world. From the age of the so-called Enlightenment, we’ve come to identify even more with the concrete world. But the way of Christ is a supernatural undertaking and unfortunately, Christianity has succumbed to the ways of the modern world.

When Jesus asked John to baptize him in the Jordan River, we see the Holy Spirit in the form of a dove, descending on him and he is baptized not only in water but in fire. Fire is merely a representation of Spirit, of a higher vibration, or rather, of a power of another dimension. Jesus is a forerunner for all mankind in all he is and does. Therefore, this baptism of the Holy Spirit is also for us. In the book of Acts, we see the disciples lay hands on new believers to pass on the fire they have received. Some Pentecostal churches continue this tradition, but, in my opinion, they have reduced this filling experience almost entirely to receiving the gift of tongues. Tongues can be a partial result of the baptism by fire, but by no means is it the totality of the experience, nor is it its only evidence.

My hope is to whet your appetite for a walk marked by repeated “fillings” of the Holy Spirit, for a life overflowing with the joy and love he brings, and by the gifts of hearing God’s voice and other miraculous results of hosting the presence of God. Jesus – our forerunner – was born of the union of God’s Eternal Seed and a woman who said, “I am willing”. Likewise, we are born again of the union of that same Eternal seed and a human being who has said she was willing. This moment of impregnation, of baptism by fire or Holy Spirit, is precious and can be very powerful and life-changing, just as it was to Mary. The angel Gabriel explained it to Mary like this: “The Spirit of Holiness will fall upon you and almighty God will spread his shadow of power over you in a cloud of glory!” (Luke 1:35 TPT)

If you haven’t experienced a touch of the Spirit, ask God for it earnestly. If you had a one-time experience of it, ask God, the Holy Spirit, or Jesus (whoever you feel closest to) to give you fresh doses to fuel your daily walk. I’m due for a refresher myself! Like Mary, our desire to follow after him and our willingness to receive him, come what may, will open us up to his many blessings. He “came from the Father overflowing with tender mercy and truth!” (John 1:14 TPT). “And now out of his fullness we are fulfilled! And from him we receive grace heaped upon more grace! [or, one gift after another] Moses gave us the Law, but Jesus, the Anointed One, unveils truth wrapped in tender mercy.” (John 1:16 TPT)

Absolutely one of my top three favorites of your blogs, FRANCO! I loved every word and feel compelled to share it with as many people as I can. You are truly gifted with how you express your love of our God. Bless you and keep on sharing your heart ❤️!

    • Wow! Praise the Holy Spirit. I think He likes it when we write/think/talk about and to Him. Over 30 years ago I went to a Bible study that essentially made the point that Holy Spirit is a person. As I remember the leader said a “He”, which is probably wrong as the Hebrew uses a feminine pronoun usually. Also She has nurturing qualities that are usually more of a mother’s trait. On the other hand, when we consider the Spirit impregnating Mary and us with God’s DNA, we would see that as a male attribute. This just points out how silly we are to give human gender to Any of the Trinity. Be that as it may, it started me thinking. I then read a little book by Benny Hinn titled “Good Morning Holy Spirit”. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to really fall in love with Her. If you have judgments about Mr Hinn, set them aside and be inspired by his genuine relationship with the person of the Holy Spirit. This was the start of my journey, and remembering brings me back to my “first love” feelings. Thanks again for your encouragement. And aren’t you glad I didn’t ramble on to cover miles of thoughts and experiences teetering on the tip of my tongue?
